The Family Car

A black 2024 Escalade super stretch

For the immediate family we lead with a black 2024 Cadillac Escalade super stretch. It seats up to 20, so parents, children and grandparents can stay together from the house to the service and on to the graveside. It is one of the few black super stretches in Los Angeles.

The cabin has two lighting settings. For a funeral it is set to soft, subdued light, and the brighter effects stay off. Mention that the booking is for a service and the car will be prepared that way.

Working with the funeral home and the procession

The funeral home provides the hearse and directs the procession, and the family car follows its lead. Send us the name of the funeral home and the director's contact. Reservations will confirm the order of vehicles, the staging point and the departure time with them. On the day, the chauffeur keeps to the procession's pace from the church or chapel to the graveside.

Collecting family from more than one home

On the morning of a service, relatives are often spread across the county. The car can collect them in a set order, for example Oxnard first, then Camarillo, then on to the church. List each address, the number of people at it and the time the family needs to arrive. The route is planned around that time.

Other vehicles for the family and guests

A smaller family may not need a large car. An executive sedan or the Cadillac Escalade ESV suits a spouse or a few close relatives, and the black Lincoln Town Car stretch seats 8 to 10. The Rolls-Royce Ghost can be quoted when the family asks for it. For guests, a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter in its executive configuration or a coach bus can run between the service, the cemetery and the reception, so relatives from out of town are not left to find their own way.

Churches, chapels and memorial parks across the area

We drive to services at churches, chapels, funeral homes and memorial parks throughout the area. These include Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo, Ivy Lawn Memorial Park in Ventura, Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard and Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village. If the funeral home has given you a gate or section, pass it on with the request.

Deposit, balance and gratuity

Once you accept the written quote, a 20% deposit reserves the vehicle and the date. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is due the week of the service. Gratuity is not included unless the quote says so; 15–20% is customary. Funeral homes and families who book with us regularly can ask about account billing.

Common Questions

Plan with confidence

How does the family car work with the hearse and the procession?
The funeral home provides the hearse and leads the procession, and the family car usually follows directly behind it. Reservations confirms the order and the staging point with the funeral director before the day, and on site the chauffeur follows the director's instructions.
How far ahead should we book, and can you help at short notice?
Book as soon as the service time is set. A booking at short notice is often possible, but it depends on which vehicles are free on that date, so call reservations and ask what is available.
Can the car collect family members from different homes?
Yes. Give each address, the number of people there and the order you would like. The quote shows the route and the time allowed for each pickup.
Can the car wait during the service and take us to the reception?
Yes. When the car is booked by the hour, it stays with the family through the service and the burial, then takes you on to the reception and home. Say where the reception is and roughly how long you expect to stay.
What does the chauffeur wear, and how quiet is the service?
If the family has a preference for dress, such as a dark suit, include it with the request so it can be confirmed in writing. On the day the chauffeur stays in the background: doors opened, the car ready when you come out, and no music unless you ask for it.
How do the deposit, balance and gratuity work?
A 20% deposit reserves the vehicle and the date once you accept the written quote. It is non-refundable, and the balance is due the week of the service. Gratuity is not included unless the quote says so; 15–20% is customary. Funeral homes and families who book with us regularly can ask about account billing.
